On November 25, the 12th China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environment Comprehensive Forum co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of the People’s Republic of China as well as the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), and the Japan-China Economic Association (JCEA) was held in China National Convention Center in Beijing. The Director of China’s NDRC Mr. He Lifeng, the Minister of METI Mr. Hiroshige Seko, the Deputy Minister of China’s MOC Mr. Qian Keming, the Chairman of the JCEA Mr. Shoji Muneoka and others made speeches in the main Forum. As the only representative from Chinese private environmental protection enterprises, the Chairman of the Board and the CEO of Infore Enviro Mr. Ma Gang was invited to attend the Forum. Mr. Ma delivered a speech in the main Forum and voiced the statement for the whole industry.
At the Forum
The China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum is a comprehensive forum approved by the State Council of China in the field of Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation. The forum was firstly held in 2016. This is the 12th session of the Forum and more than 360 cooperation projects have been achieved over the years. It has become a highlight of Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation, and has built a great platform for enterprises, research institutes and local governments of the two countries to cooperate in areas of energy conservation and environmental protection. At the Forum, China and Japan have carried out discussions on five topics, including energy-saving technology innovation system, clean coal technology and thermal power generation, circular economy, vehicle electrification and intelligentization, and long-term trade between China and Japan. Before the eyes of the guests from both sides, the Forum held a document exchange ceremony for the Sino-Japanese cooperation demonstration projects, and witnessed the signing a total of 24 cooperation projects involving energy conservation, environmental protection, and new energy.
Director of China’s NDRC Mr. He Lifeng delivered a speech
In his speech, Director of China’s NDRC Mr. He Lifeng pointed out that the focus of China’s economic development has shifted from high speed to high quality; the pressures on the resources and environment are quite high and water-related ecological issues still require urgent solutions. It is hoped that China and Japan can bring their own advantages into full play in promoting green and ecological development and the integration of the industrial chain of the green industry in the two countries. China and Japan are close neighbors, and the bilateral economic and trade ties and people-to-people exchanges enjoy a profound history. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the implementation of the Reform and the Opening Up policy and the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan. Constructing an environmentally-friendly society is our common dream. Therefore, the two countries should keep working together to advance the cooperation in energy conservation and environmental protection, push forward the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations. This Forum plays an important role in the development of the bilateral economic and technological exchanges and the pragmatic cooperation. We hope that the Forum can enhance the cooperation in China-Japan economy and trade, turn the spotlight on the new areas, technologies, models and trends of green growth, set new agenda proactively and in turn enlarge the influence of the Forum.
The Deputy Minister of the MOC Mr. Qian Keming indicated that the environment issues have become a global challenge. As the second and the third largest economies in the world, China and Japan are complementary to each other in terms of green cooperation and enjoy a broad prospect for future development. The two countries should enhance exchanges and coordination in policies, and turn market opportunities into tangible outcomes. He also expressed his expectation for the innovative bilateral cooperation in new energy, smart city and environmental improvement, the exchanges in scientific and technological achievement as well as the experience sharing in green development in the third-party market. It is believed that the bilateral cooperation may promote a healthy growth in global energy conservation and environmental protection industry.
Speech delivered by the Chairman of Infore Enviro Mr. Ma Gang
As a Chinese industry representative, Mr. Ma Gang made a speech titled “Protect the Nature with Science and Technology and Create a Better Future”. He said that environmental issues are a common problem faced by all mankind. Protecting the ecological environment and solving environmental problems are in the interests of the current and the future generations. According to Mr. Ma, saving resources and protecting the environment are the social responsibility of a company. Enterprises should be socially responsible and continuously promote the industrial transformation and upgrading for green growth. He further expressed that Infore Enviro would like to have more and deeper cooperation and exchanges with Japanese companies in new energy and artificial intelligence in the future, integrate advanced technologies and concepts into the green development of the environmental protection industry, as well as set a higher-end, more energy-efficient and smarter direction for the transformation and upgrading of environmental equipment manufacturing. Mr. Ma further addressed that China and Japan should seize the opportunity of “Belt and Road” initiative, deepen the cooperation between China and Japan and the third-party markets, open up a broader market, and create a better working and living environment for the mankind while achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
